The Gift Of Salvation
What Is Salvation?
Salvation is one of the most precious gifts that God ever gave to man.
What is Salvation and why get saved?
As the Bible says in Genesis 1:26, man is created under the image and likeness of God. Unfortunately due to Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world. This means that all of humanity, due to Adam's original failure is now automatically born in sin. As the Bible says, "all have sinned ..." simply means that all humanity is born with the sin nature resulting from Adam's fall. Also we are further told in the scriptures that "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). This means that humanity due to this sin nature, is condemned to eternal damnation.
Salvation is therefore essentially the reverse. It is the redemption from eternal damnation and the restoration of humanity back to having a relationship with God (Mark 16:16).

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Romans 3:23
What Does Salvation Mean?

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
The most common meaning of salvation is to be saved by God from the consequences of our sin or simply to be rescued from peril. The Bible however, speaks of our salvation in a bit fuller terms than simply being rescued from hell. When thinking about salvation it’s helpful to think about what we are saved from, what we are saved to and who we are saved by. It’s also helpful to think about our salvation as a past, present, and future happening. We see then, that salvation speaks of receiving deliverance from our greatest problem; namely, the many consequences of our sin against a Holy God.
THE 3 STEPS TO SALVATION
STEP 1 - ADMIT
The first step towards salvation is to first admit honestly to God that you have sinned and have disobeyed Him. Each of us has a problem the with what the Bible refers to as sin. The Bible says that due to sin, we have all "fallen short" of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). This means that sin has both alienated us from God and has also enslaved us.
Sin is also refusal to acknowledge God's authority over our lives. Everyone not living a life of of perfect obedience to the Lord is guilty of sin. Since none of us is perfect, all of us are sinners (Rom 3:10-18) by birth
The end result of Sin is what the Bible describes as 'spiritual death' (Romans 6:23). Spiritual death means eternal separation from God. Due to the fact that God has a perfect standard, we are guilty of sin and are therefore subject to the punishment for sin, which is eternal separation from God.
Due to sin, humanity is in need of Salvation. The first step towards salvation is repentance. Repentance is first admitting that you are a sinner and are separated from God. Repentance makes us to turn from sin and self and turn towards God.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:6
STEP 2: BELIEVE

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
The next step towards salvation to believe in Jesus Christ as God's Son and receive Jesus' gift of forgiveness from sin. God loves each of us with an eternal love. God offers us salvation. The Bible in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 states that “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” The Bible says in Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Finally in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Jesus paid the ultimate price for you on the Cross. Because Jesus loves you so much, He took the punishment for sin for you so that you can be forgiven. Although we have done nothing to deserve His love and salvation, God want to save us. In the death of Jesus on the cross, God provided salvation for all who would repent of their sins and believe in Jesus. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life:" John 3:16
STEP 3 - CONFESS
Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to others. After you have received Jesus Christ into your life, share you decision with another person. Tell your pastor or a Christian friend about your decision. Follow Christ's example, ask for Baptism by immersion in your local church as a public expression of your faith. "If you you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved" Rom 10:9-10

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
PRAYER FOR SALVATION
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that only you can forgive sins. I also believe that salvation and eternal life is a gift freely given from you and that you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day.
I now ask you to come into my heart and forgive my sins, and be the ruler of my life. I ask you to be my Lord, my Savior and my very best Friend. Lead me, guide me and direct my path that I may walk each and every day with you Lord.
Thank you for saving me from my sins. Thank you for the love that you have shown me. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Thank you for becoming my Lord and my Savior.
In the wonderful and precious name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Amen
